4 years and going strong! Find out AquaStar solved the water crisis at the Government Model High School For Girls, Thrissur. Kerala

Government Model High School For Girls, one of the best and biggest schools in Thrissur, Kerala is popular with the residents. Known for producing high achievers every year, it is a popular destination for girl students to pursue their studies in the city. However, like the rest of the city, the school was prone to severe water shortages. Lack of proper tapped water and dried wells made it difficult for the school authorities to ensure a regular supply of water to the school.

Kerala like other parts of the country has good rainfalls during the monsoon season, but inadequate expertise to conserve rainwater leads to dried-up wells and a water crisis. In 2018, the Government Model High School For Girls management approached AquaStar to rainwater harvest the school.

With more than 30 years of experience, AquaStar has pioneered the science of rainwater harvesting in India. After observing the shortcomings in the market, the R & D team at AquaStar created the first and exclusive uPVC rainwater harvesting system and products. The fine range of products that include gutters in different sizes, pipes, leaf guards, clamps, fittings, and more are made from sturdy virgin uPVC materials. Lightweight at the same time designed to withstand heavy load, they offer the perfect solution to create a leak-proof rainwater harvesting system.

After carefully studying the structure of the school building, AquaStar installed the state-of-the-art rainwater harvesting system. This system collects water from the roofs of the school buildings. The water is collected in the tank and is used for various purposes.

"Water was a big issue in the school when I came here," says Ms. Latha Devi MG, Head Mistress of the school. "When Rotary Club offered to help us to overcome the water crisis, I pounced on the opportunity. They tied up with AquaStar and installed the modern cutting-edge rainwater system." She added. "Now the campus is a water surplus structure, apart from using the water for several purposes including watering the vegetable garden in the school, the rainwater harvesting system has increased the groundwater table and the wells are brimming with water," says Latha Devi MG with pride.

Another interesting impact of the system is that it does allow water to stagnate the campus during the rainy students. Having successfully enjoyed the benefits of rainwater harvesting in their schools, the students, teachers, and administrators have all vowed to spread the message and benefits within the community.

From educational centers to commercial establishments and homes to religious centers, AquaStar has successfully installed several rainwater harvesting systems to suit their needs and uses. Explore more at www.aquarain.in
